So, out of nowhere the power button on my iPhone 4S died.  I thought maybe it was just jammed, or dirty, so I cleaned all the grit with a little knife and some lighter fluid with no luck.

I did some research on the internet, and it's a pretty common issue, common enough they did a little recall & fix on the 5 & 5S.  There are about a half dozen videos and walkthroughs of fixing it yourself, if you happen to have the replacement cable that wears out, and the microsized screwdrivers and prying tools, which all together are about 50 dollars value on the internet.

I did the little accessibility button as a temporary software fix, but I wasn't really pleased with it.  I was telling my co-worker about it as we have the same old iPhone.  She told me about a kiosk in the Glendale Galleria that could fix it, but they told her it was 60 dollars.  I figured I'd look into it.

The kiosk had been moved down by the Target, and the two dudes seemed pretty busy, but they told me it would cost 40 bucks and be done in twenty minutes.  I was sold.  Turned out to be 30 bucks and 45 minutes, but still worth it.

I left the phone at first, coming back 20 minutes later, and they hadn't even started on it, so I waited the following 25 minutes, just kinda hanging out, listening to them talk to every single person that walked by the booth.

This is not an exciting or even interesting story, but it is a story, of sorts, and it's mine.
