At least I'll tell you what I don't know...

Upon a discussion and reflection of my experience during the whole TechBC debacle I recall the arguments that were had with the (at the time) Minister of Advanced Education. As well, I think to more recent debates with changes made by the Ministry of Health in BC as well.

I have a question: Why the Hell can we have a Minister of Adv. Ed. that hasn't even got a degree, or a Minister of Health with no medical experience? Why don't we get to choose who has these very niche-knowledge jobs, and assure that they have at least some idea that they know what they're talking about? The only experience any of them ever have (if any) is usually financial, which is why we see tuition hikes, medical cutbacks, selling of crown corporations and general hack-and-slash methods rather than smart re-evaluations of methods and practices.

I think one of the biggest advantages that the government has in staffing these positions with people who don't know jack shit about them is that this way they don't have to worry about being out-argued in a debate on the issue, because any reasonable proposal that counters the Ministry's position will go right over the respective Minister's head.

Fuck's sake. Somebody should found a political party for me to join. I'm heading for parliament.

government, bc, techbc
