[Translation] Potato 04.2012 Johnny's Junior Zoom Up!
This photoshoot featured 8 juniors answering questions about photography and presenting one picture that they took. All of them were dressed in overalls, not the best kind of costumes in my opinion, which looked a little weird on some of the juniors and super adorable on others (｀・ω・´)”. My personal favorites from these pages are Jun Kaihou and Ryuichi Tanimura. I'm interested in who everyone else likes, so please do tell me in the comments. Fluttering Heart
With cameras as the theme, we heard their true voices. What does everyone want to take pictures of, what is everyone interested in? Their personally taken photographs were also displayed ♪ (This interview was taken in January)
Q1. Which do you prefer, getting your picture taken or taking pictures?

Mizuki Inoue:
A1. I like taking pictures. Recently, at the recording of a [Johnny’s Junior Land] episode, I took a picture of the Tokyo Tower. I took one picture in the morning, and then I took another after the sun went down and it got dark (smile).
A2. The tops of the Tokyo Tower and Mt. Fuj! I want to try looking down on them from a helicopter or something. During the filming of [Nankyoku Tairiku] when we got really close to Mt. Fuji, it was really beautiful~.
A3. My morning face right after I wake up. Since I’m sleepy and can’t open my eyes, I think I look horrible (smile). I’m bad with mornings. I can’t wake up, so every morning is difficult!
A4. Dancing with Hashimoto-kun during the song [Crush] at [ABC Star Theater] is the number one fun thing. But recently, during a part of the choreography where you aren’t supposed to move, I moved by mistake. Then the next day, during that part of the choreography, Hashimoto-kun grabbed me and held me still so that I wouldn’t move (smile). I was moved by Hashimoto-kun’s kindness!
Kuramoto-kun Opening His Eyes: I often want to see Kuramoto-kun in this state of opening his eyes!
Note: I don’t know if Mizuki means ABC-z’s Ryosuke “Hasshi” Hashimoto or the chibi junior Ryo Hashimoto. Either way, it’s cute to imagine one of the juniors helping Mizuki out onstage.
Rei Wakiyama:
A1. I’m completely on the side of taking photographs. Using my cell phone, often take pictures of my friends when we’re messing around. It’s fun to take pictures of my friends faces when they’re sleeping, or when they’re making strange faces, or when they’re being silly. By the way, even though I’m fine being photographed like this, in my private life I kind of dislike getting my picture taken…
A2. I want to see Yara-kuns’ dancing up close and study it a lot. I also admire Akanishi-kun too, so I want to study his singing and his fashion style. Those two are really cool, aren’t they?
A3. I don’t want to be seen at home. It seems like at home I don’t talk very much and give off a weird aura… (smile) I don’t want that gap in my personality to be known.
A4. Recently I often get teased by Reiya during lessons. It’s like somehow he’s always making passes at me. Up until now I haven’t really been the teased character, so even I think it’s kind of fresh and interesting~.
Joyful Locker room: The main point is Jinguuji! I want everyone to focus on Jinguuji’s face (smile)
Jun Kaiho:
A1. I don’t really care about photography, but sometimes I take pictures of my pet cat. My family’s cat will face the camera properly and look when you tell it you, so it’s easy to photograph. I still get nervous for magazine photoshoots, so I’d like to work on getting used to them.
A2. I want to see the Tokyo Sky Tree up close! I’ve seen if from far away, but I’ve never had the chance to get near it, so it’d be great if I could have the opportunity to go inside it. I want to go as soon as it’s finished!
A3. I don’t want people to see my room~. I don’t really like cleaning my room, and I have lots of stuff so… I can’t really throw stuff out, so stuff keeps piling up.
A4. At Sexy Zone’s concerts, I will be in charge of carrying a microphone stand onstage for the first time. Right now, I’m practicing how to do it correctly, but I’m really nervous that I’ll make a mistake at the concert!

Note: Lately I’m liking Kaiho more and more. He’s definitely the sort of junior who I tend to favor. Those teeth though… He should probably get braces like Kurita.
Saneyasu Takahashi:
A1. I like both. Ordinarily, I often take pictures when I see something rare, or when I’m playing with my friends before we all go our separate ways. Recently I’ve been taking my dog to a dog park, and I’ve taken pictures of my dog playing and having fun with other dogs.
A2. I like all castles, and there was that one military commander there… when I imagine that, I get goosebumps. I’m especially interested in the castle in Nagoya so I often look at pictures of it on the internet, and someday I want to get to see it up close!
A3. Me, when I accidentally step on my dog’s paw. Basically, because it’s embarrassing.
A4. On [Johnny’s Junior Land] I’m always following Kento-kun and Fuma-kun, and they kindly speak to me too; they really take care of me. Therefore, at Sexy Zone’s first concerts, although it won’t repay my debt to them, I want to support them by dancing with my all my might. I absolutely want to contribute to making it a success, so there are times when I don’t pay attention if someone talks to me during rehearsal and just keep dancing earnestly.
Cool Personal Computer: It’s bigger than a normal laptop computer, and the fact that it’s red also makes it cool.
Kaoru Kuramoto:
A1. I get nervous when I have my picture taken, go I prefer taking pictures. When I went close to the Tokyo Tower the other day, I wanted the memories to stay with me so I took pictures with my cell phone. If I was going to buy a camera, I’d want a thin digital one. Then I’d take lots of pictures of Mizuki Inoue-kun. The reason is… because he’s cute! (smile)
A2. Mizuki-kun’s body. Even though he’s tiny, he can do backflips really well; how in the heck does he do that? (smile) I definitely want him to show me how during practice.
A3. Me, in arithmetic and social studies class. I’m bad with those classes, so I study really hard, but that part of me is embarrassing so I don’t want it to be seen. I don’t think that the other Juniors can imagine me like that (smile).
A4. On location for [Johnny’s Junior Land] we went to an onsen! I thought that I absolutely must not get a cold on that day, so, as a precaution, whenever I started to sweat at the Sexy Zone concert rehersal that was right before, I quickly wiped it away.
Takaha-sexy: These clothes that are different from the ones that Fuu-kun usually wears suit him, right?
Note: Clearly Kaoru got the message that gratuitous fanservice can lead to a boost in popularity (≧∇≦). I have to wonder how Inoue feels about it though, since it’s not reciprocal. Also, I’m not sure if the expression “heck” exists in languages besides English, so I’ll explain it a little. “Heck” is a children’s version of the word “hell” and is used when the speaker wants to show that they’re really interested or confused about a certain thing.
Reiya Nakamura:
A1. I’m bad at both of them, but I’ve become used to getting my picture taken. I’m probably able to do it more naturally when I’m told to smile, instead of when I’m told to make a sexy, posed face. I don’t usually make sexy faces, so I guess I get a little shy about them.
A2. I want to try seeing [DREAM BOYS] up close! It’ll have a big impact on me for sure, and it seems like I’d learn a lot from it. Before, when I met my admired sempai Tegoshi-kun, his super shining aura was amazing. It’d sure be nice if I could meet him again.
A3. People think I’m good at drawing, but not all my drawings are good. I’m good at drawing with pencils and stuff, and will oil paintings, but I’m bad with watercolors. Therefore, I don’t want the watercolors that I painted in the past to be seen.
A4. During the lessons for the Sexy Zone concert, when Marius was practicing handstands, his face went totally red. I was surprised to see that fair-skinned Marius getting so red (smile).
Haniuda Venus: Jinguuji, doing an impression of Kisumai’s Fujigaya-kun, got in the picture as well (smile)
Kei Kurita:
A1. I prefer taking pictures! I don’t usually carry my personal digital camera, and often take pictures with my cell phone. Recently, I’ve been going to different sports facilities with my classmates and spectacular pictures whenever I please of my friends playing with balls ♪
A2. I want to try zooming up on dyed juices. If it was grape juice, I’d be interested in how they got the liquid to be purple.
A3. The way I play the children’s game “Pokopen” hopscotch at school during recess, and the I was I quickly throw off my bag and go to play online games with my friends when I come home from school. The way I still do those things even though I’m in my 2nd year of middle school is childish, so I don’t want others to see (smile).
A4. During the breaks at the rehearsals for Sexy Zone’s concerts, Haniuda-kun almost always makes everyone laugh by doing funny “one-line” gags and impersonations. When he does Fujigaya-kun’s rap from [Kis-My-Venus] it really looks like him!

Ryuichi Tanimura:
A1. I’m the type who gets excited to have my picture taken. A long time ago, I used to embarrassed, but since I entered the Juniors I’ve become less shy. I’m aiming to get to the degree of being able relax and not stiffen up even when I’m nervous.
A2. Kurita-kun. Only few seconds after he gets angry, he acts as if nothing has happened, so I’m wondering, what the heck kind of a person is he? (smile) I’m really interested, so I want to try jumping into his head.
A3. Me, I’ve got really messy handwriting. Therefore, I absolutely don’t want my school notes or tests to be seen. Of course I think that I’d like to write neatly, but if I make an effort to write carefully, it takes so much time…
A4. At my school there’s a relay race competition, and I’m in charge of the second ward. But I quickly get worn out after running just one lap around the 800m track (smile). After rehearsing together with everyone for Sexy Zone’s concerts, I also practice by myself until I get tired. It’s fun to think of a display that’s different from everyone else’s!
