These 5 who have decided on an adult appearance for the photoshoot tell us about times that they tried to act cool.
Kazuya Kitada: During concerts, it’s too frantic so there’s no time to try to act cool, but at school I try to seem smart, just a little bit (smile). Well, it’s a boy’s school anyways, so even if I try to act cool nothing good happens (smile). The people around me who are cool? That’d be NEWS’s Shigeaki Kato-kun for sure! I was really happy when he responded to my message in the last issue. I watched the drama that Kato-kun appeared in, and now I want to be photographed by a cool cameraman like that… No, I want to be the cool photographer myself! I’d be happy if people told me that I looked like him, but that would be rude to Kato-kun. My goal is to someday meet and talk to him!
Koji Mukai: In the stage-play [Shonentachi~], I acted cool whenever I said my lines. Or rather, instead of saying that by performing my lines seriously I was trying to act cool, I was conscious that I had to show “a cool, refined image.” Me, I’ve got a high voice, you know. That's why whenever it was possible I made my voice lower to make it more adult-like. Inside my head, I thought: “my low voice sounds cool~” but it seems like people didn’t really notice (smile). My goal is to have a voice like Nishikido-kun’s! It has a sort of husky quality, and I really like it a lot!... Or rather, I like Nishikido-kun, so even if he had a high voice, I’d say: “I like Nishikido-kun’s voice” (smile).
Toma Kaneuchi: I’ve come to Tokyo. After appearing in [Shonentachi~] with the other Kansai juniors I was able to watch [DREAM BOYS] and [SUMMARY]. That would have been more than enough, but then I was given the opportunity to appear on [YanYan~]! I tried desperately to remember the choreography right before the show started, and somehow I was able to pull it off… lets not talk about the quality (smile). When I was in the studio, the cheers were amazing! When B.I.Shadow entered they were all like: “kyaa!” and then for JUMP they were all like “kyaa!” I was tentatively trying to be cool, but the audience probably thought “whose that?” when they saw me (smile). I’ll do my best so that I get cheered for too!
