Good day, jr__nallers! How are you this fine Sunday... morning? My Sunday is almost done, and I come bearing a selection from my most recent journal. Unfortunately, as this journal is too big to fit comfortably into my scanner, I had to take camera photos. And it didn't matter what settings I used, everything came out blurry ( Read more... )

There's a cyst in my eyelid, and it's been going on for so long I'm actually thinking of changing my doctor. I've been going to this one because it was recommended by a Japanese co-worker... being a foreigner, I know no better! He claims that it was caused by an eye infection I had a few months ago, but I actually went to him with the same problem a year or so ago and I'm pretty sure it's the same one. I've been given antibiotics, steroids, and eventually it swelled up to the size of a pea, so he cut it out. But, as I've been telling him for the past few months, the actual cyst has two parts... the main problem is further up in the eyelid, and if he took the time to feel with his fingers as I've asked him to, he would know this.

I had one like this for a year or so in high school and that also took a year to get treated, but that was mainly because my mother insisted it was a sty that we could cure with home remedies >.> But when we did go to a hospital, they gave me an injection of steroids and after three days it was all clear. It wasn't pleasant, but knowing it can be fixed this quickly and simply pisses me off even more, having gone through surgery alone and in a foreign country, only for it not to work.

Ugh. I'm sorry for ranting at you. It's a sore subject for me. I'm not squeamish about my eyes by any means. But I'm pretty protective of them :[

No no, please don't apologise! <3

I can completely see why you are frustrated, especially when there IS a way to fix it but they won't listen :( Could you take your co-worker with you, even? And that way, you'd be with someone who may have some sway in explaining to the doctor what's wrong? I really, really hope you get it fixed soon! If you visit home anytime, you could try to get it fixed then? (though I know this is dependent on when you ARE next going back to the UK!)
