Hong Kong...Day 1

Oct 24, 2007 08:07

So my day has just barely ended..I am still at the office but will be leaving at 8:00 to go have Thai food with Daisy! I decided while I had some free time I should update what has happen so far on my trip! Click on link below for details and pics!!!

Flight:
I ended up listening to the “gossip girl novel” for 2 ½ hours on the plane…then ate dinner. I ended up going to sleep for most of my flight and had a little over 2 hours left when I got up! The flight didn’t end up feeling that long after sleeping so much! I am glad I slept though-the seating was very cramped and had less leg room then most domestic flights I have been on.

Hotel:
Got to the hotel checked in and unpacked..took a sleeping pills so I could start to get on HK time and fell asleep around 10:30. Before I went to bed I put together two lil’ gift bags foo the HK office

One had Halloween cookies in it and the other had Halloween candy
While I laid in bed out my window I could see a building which all over lights changed into rainbow colors and different patterns all through the night…luckily It didn’t keep me up-I just watched it to I feel asleep!

Work:
Woke up at 6:00 and started getting ready..I wanted to have plenty of time to get ready for the first day!
I ordered room service for breakfast and got the “traditional Chinese breakfast”…WOW portion was HUGE!

It was very good especially the Dim Sum part (it had 2 dumpling just like the shopow *sp?* ones my mom makes) Here is what was on my tray:

Congee (rice porridge prepared to a thick consistency w/ chicken), dim sum (dumplings 2 chicken two shrimp and 2 pork) fried egg and hot sauce, fried rice and hot tea!

While I waited in the Hotel lobby for my co worker to meet me I meet a couple from NY. They had been traveling across China Since the beginning of October. We chatted for a while about HK and NY…they lived close to me but in a much pricier area (85th and park)

Tomorrow should be more low key..most of the day will be sourcing trims!!

Stay tuned!
