“Kei, don’t leave. Please, just stay here with me. I-I’m having a bad feeling. So please just stay…”
Staring blankly at the person who seems to be sleeping peacefully beside him while feeling devastated, Inoo never knew that he can produce this kind of emotion. He was never been like this before. He is not easily affected by the things surrounding him; he is an introvert, he always act cold towards people. The only thing he cares about is his studies and his beloved books, nothing else more. He never gets hurt easily for he already made a vow to himself to never shed a tear again. But what now? His eyes can now produce tears. His brain cells that always work can now stop functioning. His sharp tongue that always gives off some reprimanding and harsh words can now tell sentimental issues and caring words, his heart that was once as hard as stone is now shattered and has been replaced by a new loving and pure heart.
His once peaceful yet dark life is now gone all because of this one special person that changed everything.
“The moment you appeared in the picture of my once lonely life…” Inoo murmured as he caresses the soft and fluffy cheek of the guy who is having this peaceful sleeping face. “…I never knew that you are the one who will complete it and turn my life upside-down.”
He chuckled while remembering the times where this guy is going to throw random tantrums when their conversation shifts to a happy one into a serious conversation.
“Yuri, I am so sorry…” He continued. “…if someone like me-a useless son of a bitch-is the one who have the urge to love you, to protect you and to own you. I don’t why but…”
And there, the tears that he has been holding since earlier came out of his once cold, piercing eyes.
“Hngg…” Chinen Yuri groaned as a tear hit his face. Inoo panicked and immediately wipe his tears.
Chinen slowly open his eyes and yawns cutely while snuggling more to Inoo. Inoo chuckled at Chinen’s childish actions.
“Hey. Ohayou~” Inoo whispered as he pull Chinen closer and pecks his forehead.
“Kei, what time is it?” Chinen asked softly as he closes his eyes again. Inoo looked at his wrist watch then he places his other arm on Chinen’s hair.
“7:45 in the morning, Yuri…” Inoo murmured as he buries his face on Chinen’s hair. Chinen groaned in annoyance as he slowly sits up and looks at Inoo with half-lidded eyes.
“It’s too early…” Chinen whined and clicked his tongue, “…how can I sleep again?”
Inoo chuckled as he leaned on the bed head board and plays with the pillow.
“It can’t be helped Yuri.” Inoo grinned.
Chinen sleepily glared at Inoo and stood up. He stretches and heads towards the bathroom.
“Yuri, would you mind cuddling with me for a sec? You can take a bath later…” Inoo said as he pats the space between his legs. Chinen blinks furiously and shrugged. He sluggishly walks back to Inoo and sits at the empty space. Inoo slowly wraps his arms around the petite’s waist and buries his face on the crook of Chinen’s neck.
“Kei, what’s wrong…?” Chinen asked carefully as he caresses Inoo’s arms.
“You will not leave me right? You will stay by my side forever right? We will grow old together…right?” Inoo softly asked as he tightens his hug around Chinen’s waist. Chinen’s eyes widen a bit and smiles slightly.
“What made you ask that?” Chinen asked softly as he lean on Inoo’s chest. Inoo’s tears slowly fell out of his eyes.
“B-Because…”
“Because what? Hm?”
“Because I left you suffering alone that night…” Inoo sadly whispered.
“Oh…” Chinen softly muttered as he untangled Inoo’s hands around his waist, stood up and faces the older guy.
“Are you mad at me for leaving you alone and saying those horrible things at that night Yuri?” Inoo looked at Chinen. “I swear I didn’t mean to Yuri! Please don’t leave me! I’ll die!!” Inoo pleaded as he grabs Chinen’s hand.
Chinen smiled sadly as he caresses Inoo’s cheek.
“I am not mad Kei. I can never get mad at you. It’s just that…” Chinen pursued his lips. “…maybe I am meant to leave you earlier than expected.”
Inoo’s eyes widen as tears slowly fell off his eyes.
“Y-Yuri please don’t leave me! Please!!” Inoo cried out as he stood up and hugged Chinen tight.
“Whether I like the idea of leaving you or not, this is my fate Kei. You know, instead of weeping here, I suggest you should send me off with a smile. In that way, I can rest in peace. I want you to live up your life. Find someone else that can give you more happiness that I gave.” Chinen said softly as he smiled with tears falling off his eyes. “It is my time already. I need to go now. Thank you for everything Kei. These past few months were fun. Never forget the thing that I always tell you; I will always love you.”
Kei’s tears are uncontrollable. He slowly pulled away from the hug and look at his lover’s eyes. All I can see in those eyes are pure innocence. I wish I can stare at these eyes I fell in love with forever…
“I love you, Yuri.”
Chinen tiptoes and plants a soft kiss on Kei’s lips before backing away. He smiled for the last time before closing his eyes. He mouthed ‘I love you too’ before fading away with hands on his chest…
…leaving a very broken-hearted Inoo who’s reminiscing what actually happened on that night.
[Flashback] August 29, 2013
““Kei, don’t leave. Please, just stay here with me. I-I’m having a bad feeling. So please just stay…” Chinen pleaded as he grabs Kei’s hand; preventing him from going out.
“I am just going out to meet Takaki, Yuri.” Inoo sighed as he faces the younger lad.
Chinen frowned as he tighten s his grip on Inoo’s hand. “Can’t you just meet him tomorrow? Kei, it is already 10 in the evening.”
“You know I can’t. You read the mail right? Takaki said it is urgent. I can’t ignore him and you know that.” Inoo said as he pats Chinen’s head.
Takaki is Inoo’s friend that he met after Chinen and him became a couple.
“Can’t you just-“
“Yuri… Don’t be paranoid. Nothing’s going to happen. I’ll be back in an hour. Lock the door and window as I go out. It is okay if you sleep already, I have my spare key. Mail me if there’s a problem or something.” Inoo cut Chinen’s words and peck his forehead.
“I’ll be going now. I love you…” Inoo smiled as he wears his shoes, goes out of the house and goes to his motorcycle. He wears his helmet and starts the motor.
Chinen sighed before going out as well.
“I love you too. Take care.” Chinen said as he follows Inoo’s fading figure along with his motorcycle with his eyes.
What they don’t know is that that is the last time they will say ‘I love you’ to each other.
Inoo came back at 10:45 after waiting for 30 minutes but Takaki never showed up.
“What the heck is that guy’s problem? Mailing me at this late hour, telling me something urgent came up and he needs my help, and then when I arrived at the said place, I found nothing but an empty street.” Inoo gritted his teeth as he fish out the house’s keys.
Before he even unlocks the door, he found it strange because the door is unlocked and the lights are turned off. In an instant, he got a bad feeling about this.
“Yuri?!” He muttered as he slams the door open. He opens the lights and his eyes widen as he saw how messy the living room is. Magazines that are placed under the coffee table are scattered on the floor, the vase that is placed on the centre of the coffee table is shattered into pieces and Yuri & Inoo’s picture was ripped into pieces.
“YURI!!!” Inoo yelled as he runs towards their room.
He slowly opens the door to their room and his eyes went wide.
There on the bed, lies a naked Chinen with blood staining the pure white sheet of the bed.
“T-This is a lie…” Inoo muttered as he slowly walks towards the bed.
“Y-Yuri~ I-I’m home…” Inoo said as he kneeled besides the bed sobbing.
“Yuri, w-wake up…” Inoo shakily said as he shakes Chinen; blood staining his hand.
“YURI!!!” Inoo yelled as tears fell off his eyes. He sits down beside Chinen and pulled him into a tight hug; not minding the crimson blood staining his shirt.
“No, no, no. This is damn not true!!!” Inoo whispered as tears fell off his eyes non-stop.
Then his phone rang.
He is planning to ignore it. But something is pushing him to answer the call. He takes his phone out and he sees the caller name.
Takaki Yuya calling
He shakily answered the call…
“T-Takaki, come-“
“Hey, your boyfriend was heaven Kei. You know, he gave me sooo much pleasure. I’d like to have him on bed again but I already killed him so it is already impossible. Oh, and you wanna know why I had done all of that? Well, let’s just say that I am jealous. I love Yuri long before you even met him. I was planning to confess my feelings but you arrived. You guys eventually got together. Don’t you think it is unfair? Well, if I can’t have him, then no one should have him as well. At least I had the chance to make him mine before killing him. Now, Yuri and I will be together…forever.”
After Takaki muttered his last words, a gunshot was heard.
