Well I imagine she used "appreciate" for a relatively specific conveyance, as opposed to just saying that people dislike you.

While I'm not necessarily the biggest fan of people disliking each other (mostly because of the horrid potentials of what happened before this determination and a lot of people's reasons for disliking individuals), at least when it's mutual, there's a lot of ease and convenience involved.
