KIERON: (doing linear algebra homework, to himself) "Does it look like the owls are going to survive?"
ME: (next to him, doing number theory homework) "Does it?"
KIERON: "Noooo. Look, the graph goes down."
KIERON AND ME: (together) "Awwwww, poor owls."
KIERON: "... Don't worry. I can save them by changing a variable."
MORAL: If you change your variables, you, too, can save the theoretical owls!
... This was probably funnier at the time, which was about ten minutes ago.
