I can see re-enacting the Revolutionary War and donning British uniforms. I can understand people re-enacting the Civil War and being Confederates. Even re-enacting WWII and acting as German or Japanese military. Barely, but I'm willing to believe some people are simply history buffs.
But the Waffen SS? Are you F***ing serious? That would be like donning the uniform of, er, uh, well, the Waffen SS. There just isn't anything else symbolically comparable.
