I don't know what to say. I'm sure you all know about all the bloodshed in Iran over the rigged election in Iran. There is a girl that has been called Neda who was shot by snipers while protesting the election results. The video is underneath a cut because it is quite graphic and very upsetting. If you decide to watch it, please prepare yourself, because you can't unsee something like this. A Sixteen year old girl (trying to stand up for the right of everyone in her country to be represented by a person of their choosing) being shot down in cold blood because of an evil, tyrannical dictatorship refusing to relinquish power to whom the people have chosen.

I cried tonight. I wish my brain could process this event, this tragedy. I don't even know this girl. Never would I have had the opportunity to meet her. What's worse is that this is happening to untold numbers of people in Iran. This kind of thing happens all over the world to people that fight for a better life, that fight oppression. KIDS! KIDS are being killed because of evil human greed and lust for power and control. See what happens when people will stop at nothing to make sure that they have absolute control?
I thank God for the United States, for our laws, for our government. No matter who is elected to be in charge, no matter whether we agree or disagree with leadership, in the United States we will not be shot dead for protesting the Bushes or Obamas, or the Clintons of our country. We don't have to worry about being ruled over and controlled with an iron fist. We have rights that are sacred in this country. By the grace of God, we don't have to fear for our lives if we speak out against the actions of our political leaders. So many don't have these rights, and they still boldly dissent! What courage to fight for a better life for all your countrymen! Be thankful that we were born into such a wonderfully free nation! I thank God for that! I just pray that somehow this tragedy would bring change for the better in the world.
This war of people vs. government in Iran now has a face. Whether the name given to the girl is correct or not, it definitely is fitting. Neda in Farsi means "the Voice." This fight has a face. This fight has a voice!
WAKE UP! THIS WORLD NEEDS US! THIS WORLD NEEDS HOPE!
