I got to go to Federal Court today! Yup, your's truely was called for Jury Duty! So I went downtown and prepared to do my civic duty. The case was the city of Blane vs. Company X (I'm not trying to protect anyone, I really can't remember their name.) Apparently, Blane wanted a new waste water treatment plant and hired X to make sure there were no Native American Burial grounds on their chosen site. An employee of X apparently found human remains (ancient) and transported them out of state. When the Lummi Indian reservation found out about it, they sued the City of Blaine and X. They settled out of court, and this trial was Blaine trying to get the $$ they paid the tribe from X, since they contend it was X's fault they had to pay it in the first place.
Anthorpology and Archaeology...two things I'm very into. Sooo? I'm overqualified. Too much education in the field! Lol. I would have liked to sit on the jury. It would have been a really interesting experience. (Except the 3 weeks of not getting paid from work...)
I was so excited too, because I was all set to take the bus! I knew which route to take to get to the court house, I was packed and ready to go! Of course, I checked the address again and I had to go to the Federal courthouse instead of the King County one, so at the last minute I had to drive. I was really disapointed. I wanted to try taking the bus!
Oh well. Tomorrow: Work!! Huzzah!
