Well, I'm home again. I wish I could live in Hawaii - maybe someday. I tried to talk my mom into opening up a branch over there, but she wasn't really going for it. I'm sure our trucks would be more interesting to look at than the "Pump it" drain service trucks I saw.
I love going on vacation with my parents, I don't have to worry about anything except showing up where they expect me, when they expect me. But somehow I always feel like I'm reverting back to childhood when I'm with them. I have to tell them where I'm going and when I'll be back (which I realize is basic safety, but still...) and I tend to get lazy and leave all the planning/herding/gathering up of things to them. Of course I help schlep stuff down to the beach and I help corral Natalie and stuff. It's just such a different experience than when you go on a trip with your peers. When I went to Florida with Travis I got to be the director and planner and everything. And I liked it! :o) My mom does all that on our vacations, and while I help, she's still the one "in charge".
It was a fantastic trip and I love vacationing with my parents - it's just an interesting social phenomenon. I wonder if it happens to other adult children.
