The feline was content as he lay there on the blonde's lap while she scratched that point behind his ears that he loved. Yet he opened his tired eyes and stretched, knowing when Minako used that tone there would be no rest until all this was over.
"Hm?" he muttered, sleepily.
"I'm glad all this happened."
"And what would that be?"
"You know, the Silver Millennium falling and everything. Us getting sent a thousand years into the future. That."
"So you're happy thousands upon thousands of people died, a peaceful civilization was exterminated and that you've had to fight your way through this life too? Please...enlighten me," the white cat drawled.
"Oh stop being so dramatic. Sure things have been a little tough, but it's not that. I'm glad because...because, of us."
"What?" Artemis said, honestly surprised.
"You were just Queen Serenity's adviser back then. We didn't really interact, did we? And I specifically remember not liking you all that much. You are kind of a pain sometimes."
"Hey-"
"If all that wouldn't of happened, we would never be here right now. We would never have been put together as a team, and we would've never became friends. And well, I couldn't imagine my life without you anymore. So, I'm glad."
Although her way of thinking was a little bizarre and unconventional, Artemis couldn't help but smile. It was really the first time she admitted such feelings, and he wondered what had brought this all about, but as she began to scratch behind his ear again he let those thoughts go.
