Tips and recommendations requested

Seeking a few recommendations:

1. I'm starting to pack, both for my trip to Zambia and to move out of my apartment. Any tips for either 1) fitting the most into the least space, or 2) things to pack for international travel that I might forget?

2. I'm looking for a few more good blogs to add to my roll and start reading regularly. Particularly interested in politics, baseball, etc. of course, but if you read any smart writers on pop culture, food, cooking, travel, etc. I'd appreciate those too.

3. On that same note, also looking to update my podcast subscriptions, so send along any recommendations you have for good ones.

4. I'm looking for some recommendations for new types of fish to try. Some of you know that I generally don't like seafood, and as I've expanded my culinary horizons in the past few years seafood has become the only type of food I really dislike. I don't think I'll ever like shellfish, but I do like a few kinds of white fish and want to try more. I know that I like cod, haddock, halibut, catfish, swordfish, trout, and sometimes tilapia (I've had some that's very fishy). Not a big salmon fan. Any other recommendations?

For those that didn't receive a text from me on Saturday, I was at the Sox/Baltimore game for Manny's 500th home run. The ball landed about 10 rows to my right in center field (I was sitting in the right/center field bleachers). Obviously a great moment, probably the most significant Sox moment I've been present for in person. Tons of energy, great times.

I do have a bit of beef with the Orioles management, however. About 5 minutes after Manny's ovation, they started playing "Sweet Caroline" and the jumbotron read "And now, a special treat for Sox fans..." I thought that was a very classy move, and the entire stadium (well over half full of Sox fans, and nearly sold out) began singing. After about 20 seconds, they cut the song and put up the O's logo and some bullshit like "Not!" on the screen (can't remember).

That probably would have been semi-funny any other day or time, but this happened RIGHT after a huge milestone for the away team. I found the move in extremely poor taste, especially from a TERRIBLE team that's terrible due to shitty management and a crazy owner. The team's own great history and fans deserve better.

So a big fuck you to the Orioles, or at least the idiot who runs the jumbotron and didn't have the good sense to skip that segment on Saturday. End rant.
