MY CAR LIVES!!

It is so incredible. God came through and has provided me with an amazing vehicle! I seriously don't think I could've asked for anything better.

So here's what's up for those of you who are unaware. My car, since I brought it here to California, has been slipping on the clutch a lot. The AC also had been having tendencies towards dying, as the belts would consistently snap after about 200 miles of wear. That, and the seatbelts needed to undergo a factory-issued recall. So, I decided to take it in to get it fixed.

For a measly $1,300, the dealership fixed all the problems. Now I can actually feel the snap as the clutch kicks in (as opposed to pedalling blind), and it doesn't slip at all. Granted, I almost stalled taking the car out of the parking lot, but with a brand new clutch that's insured for the next 12,000 miles I think I can afford to learn how to start from a stop again. It makes all of my dad's advice make a lot more sense, now that the snap is really evident. There's a clear distinction between holding the clutch out and letting it in, which I hadn't had before (there was practically no feedback at all, save from the sound of the engine). I've gotta adjust my clutching, but that's simple stuff.

What was up with the AC was that one of the bearings on one of the crank wheels was supposedly worn down, and because of how much tension was on the AC belt, it just snapped the thing. Now that it's fixed, though? I've got cold AC blowing out of all of the vents - colder than it ever had blown before. They replaced all the affected belts as well, so those aren't going to die any time soon.

With the seatbelt, they replaced the buttons as per the recall, but this is the only problem: the driver's side still doesn't latch. I'm going to go in there tonight with a screwdriver and see if I can't figure out what's wrong with it. Chances are that it's just a misaligned mechanism, and I'll be able to fix it just by looking at it.

They also replaced a couple fluids and cleaned the fuel injectors, so the car is currently running better than it's ever run (and getting 41 MPG highway before, I can't wait to see how it fairs). I'm so grateful to my God and to my parents for helping me with this, because this car itself was just a God-send. Really, I can't be thankful enough.

Again, God is made of win and awesome.
