My Quarterly Update
So wow... Here it is folks, my quarterly update... I've been working my ass off lately. Between work and school and clinicals, I'm never home... It sucks really. Clinicals have been good though, I've done 5 endotracheal intubations since the start of the summer. Also 31 successful IV sticks... Doing well there. Rode out with Station 1 on Saturday, got to work a cardiac arrest call, intubated the guy, that was my first field intubation, and it was cool. I was very charged for a while after that... The majority of my hospital/rideout time has been very fruitful for my learning experience... I've grown quite a bit in my EMS background, and have received a lot of compliments which makes me feel good. Must have finally found a profession I can do in my own style...
Claire and I are doing fairly well... We still have our fights now and then, but our work schedules are finally working out... She's having some trouble with the new store manager, but whatever... That's her gig, I've given up on trying to get her to stand her ground and stand up for herself...
Work is keeping me busy... I have a stinking suspicion that the service will take a nosedive soon. They've not been ordering supplies, or fixing the broken trucks, so I'm really just watching things closely. I think I'll be looking around at the other EMS services in town just in case... I'm working the Sunday 24 hour shift now, which is cool because it's the best shift in the company... Only emergency calls and 911 backup, so I don't really have to do too much, and it knocks out a fair bit of my hours in 1 day... The downside is being away from my baby, but hey, c'est la vie.
I finally got a new laptop as well, which is nice...
