I managed to trigger my plantar fasciitis (fancy word for an inflammed foot arch and heel) into returning, leaving me a cripple. Walking without pain or help from other people is one of the things I've taken for granted for pretty much my entire life, and now that it's been taken away from me, suddenly most other trivial things don't seem that important anymore.
I suspect Mr. Plantar Fasciitis has been a long time coming; I just spent the last eight months working from home and walking around the house barefoot. Coupled with the fact that my favourite exercises are squat jumpes, burpees and lunges, my feet have been under some serious stress this year. Apparently Nikes just don't cut it when it comes to pylometrics and I've since invested in a pair of Asics. By God, they are so expensive though; do you know how many normal pair of shoes you could buy with one pair of Asic Gel shoes?? The only way I can justify the price is by wearing them and feeling the pain subside from my feet long enough to walk to the kitchen and drown my sorrows in bread and cakes and lots and lots of carbs.
I've become one of those people; I get really depressed at not being able to work out. I now sit on the couch (eating carbs) and longingly watch Ken lift weights. Ken says I can still do lots of bicep curls and become one of those guys who never do leg day and then followed his argument with a pretty impressive demonstration of various ways to lift weights while lying down. Right there was a good example on how a lazy person will always find the most efficient way to do something. But I'll probably be spending the next week "resting" (and maybe doing some bicep curls).
On the up side, the postie dropped off this Sretsis Carina skirt last week (before I couldn't walk). It was an exciting day because I have wanted and lusted after this skirt for so long. This is from Sretsis'
Children of the Stars collection released for spring summer 2014 and it pained me that I wanted everything but could afford nothing. Such is life when you have a mortgage. I thought I was out of luck when this sold out in Australia, but by fashion fate, one suddenly got restocked in my size at
Maximillia at 85 percent off. FASHION FATE!!
Summer outfit sorted.
Metallic tulle embellished with crystals. I've worn this out a couple of times and it is a serious eye-catcher, especially with anyone under the age of ten.
