Totally irrelevant since I work out at home where no one sees what I'm wearing

I'll confess, it took me a while to get into the whole activewear world. When I'm midway through a workout and my legs are about to fall off, the last thing I'm thinking about is how fab (or not fab) I'm looking in my clothes. As long as it doesn't ride up, doesn't fall off, doesn't cost an arm and a leg, doesn't itch and will last through muliple cycles in the washing machine, well then I'm in!

All of this changed when I walked past Lorna Jane and saw these hanging on the rack.

That print!! Matching seperates!! It also came in a windbreaker, but it was ridiculously expensive, plus I don't really workout outdoors.

The act of placing a busy print on the contours of the body was first popularised by Miuccia in Prada's 2011 spring/summer ready-to-wear show. I distinctly remember looking throught the collection and thinking, "This is the ugliest formation and placement of print ever, but I bet in couple of years time we'll all be wearing it." How right I was. This print type and placement has since filtered down to Seafolly's extremely popular Bella Rose collection and Shakuhachi's Acid Bloom collection. And now, finally onto activewear. Ahh, such is the circle of life in fashion.

I think there are abs somewhere in there..

When I brought these home, Ken's first reaction was, "YOU GOT SUCKED IN!!"  We have an on-going agreement that Lorna Jane sells over-priced clothes pretending to be activewear. And that still stands; even on sale, this matching set cost me more than a full-priced Nike outfit. And the Nike outfit would probably perform better.

In terms of performance, I haven't had any issues working out in these. One thing that I did notice, was that this sportsbra has become the best push-up bra I have ever seen or owned or tried on in my entire life. There is a collosal amount of padding in their sportsbras; no wonder all the Lorna Jane girls on Instagram have amazing tits. A definate thumbs up from me since getting fit apparently also means an ever-shrinking chest.

That said, I've tried a couple of Lorna Jane's tanks and they always feel either itchy, suffocating or make me overheat in the change rooms. Not really a great trait to have if your activewear makes you sweat when you're stationary. This is where you really see the difference between Lorna Jane and an actual performance-driven activewear brand, like Nike, Adidas or 2XU, who obviously spent a lot of money on fabric development. So it looks like I'll be sticking to their amazing bras.
