Phew! Midterms!

Well, I had to turn midterm grades in yesterday and I about had a heart attack over how much work I had to do. School has taken over my entire life now. (manical laugh) I just decided this week that I am going to split up the Senior Calculus class into one Calculus class and one Statistics class. This means another prep (more work) for me, but I think it will help my students be more successful in the long run.

Life is going well here. I've been having a great time with my new friends here. Last night I went to this huge party at the Hotel Marriott for the German Independence Day. It was pretty great--free food and free alcohol. Everyone was dressed up all fancy, and Guillarmo Anderson, the most famous Honduran singer and muscial artist, performed with his band.

I've also stumbled upon this group of people who do this thing called a "hash" about once a month. Basically, they pick a venue, such as La Tigra national forest and do a run/walk. Afterwards, they just drink beer and eat. We ran a 6 mile trail in La Tigra a couple of weekends ago, and I was so happy because I haven't been able to run on trails since I arrived in Honduras. The people are a little crazy, but it's really fun.

I still need to update about the Tela trip...coming soon.
