Nanyang Guzheng; GOLD WITH HONOURS!!!! ♥
Waited for an excruciatingly long time before the judges came out to announce the results. It was in order of performance, and on the first day there were really few GWHs. So came the school before us, Clementi Town Secondary School (who played our SYF'07 song lol)... "Silver" and all I vaguely remember was grabbing (and nearly ripping off) Amanda's hand and my heart almost stopping. As they announced... "Nanyang Girls' High School".... "金牌荣誉", it took a while for the words to sink in. Everything after that were just chains of hysterical screaming and jumping for joy. Juniors around me started crying, the seniors were trying to hold back their tears and the graduated seniors were so proud of us. I saw the overwhelming sense of pride and joy in everyone's eyes; those 5 months of working so hard, seemingly endless CCA practices and peptalks... Everyone deserved it. (:
Thank you to everyone (esp 412 and AniG) who sent me SMSes, wrote me notes, gave me food, hugs, encouragement and for giving me the strength to carry on through this journey when everything seemed bleak. Thank you to the graduated seniors, esp Pam, Yuhui, Shuhui, Xueying and Lydia for coming down personally to support us for our SYF and never giving up on us. Last but definitely not least, thank you NYGZ, each and everyone of you, for giving your best on that stage, for shining like the brightest stars and for believing in your seniors. You guys are the best, and I couldn't ask for any more. ♥
I felt happier after the performance, though. The experience was priceless and the immense joy I felt after playing was much more gratifying than the results. Looking back, I remember being so touched by our music until the tears couldn't stop flowing. NYGZ has definitely achieved much more than a GWH, and although SYF'09 has come to an end, I'm sure NYGZ will continue to soar to greater heights. (:
