My current musical infuation. Ok, beyond "infatuation". I've recently developed a mad artist-crush on
Amanda Palmer, who fronts (and is the sole writer for) the (self-identified) "Brechtian punk cabaret" band the Dresden Dolls. She's just released her first solo project, an album titled
"Who Killed Amanda Palmer", and has worked with Neil Gaiman to put together a book of (stunning) photography in support of WKAP. (They also wrote
a song together.) I'm so very mesmerized by how easy it is to just get sunk into exploring the many intricate
nooks and
crannies - what phenomenal artistry! - of the broader WKAP project...
Oh yeah, have I mentioned, SHE'S TOURING! AND
COMING TO TOWN!! *esplodes* [And, according to one of her blog entries, there will be a signing table ("yes," she adds, "i will sign your tits"... *swoons!*).
