Writing in the LJ . . . .

If Mike Hines can do it several times in the last few days, I can too. Wait. . . . I have even less important things to say than Mike Hines? How is this possible? ;-P

No really. I'm good. I did have a Sciatic Nerve problem the other day that had me avoiding the gym and hobbling around the house. It was crap.

I did recently come out of a junk food binge. I was craving sugar and crappy food, then last week we attended our first Chuck E. Cheese Birthday party as Van's parents. And let me tell you, there's nothing like eating there to cure you of any cravings for crap food you may have. It's just *too* bad and then all you want to eat are fresh veggies, fruits, and fishes. And water, drink lots of water.

My husband has been getting on my nerves and I'm starting to see a trend. For several months now, we start getting crabby with each other to a distinct rhythm. And get this, the crescendo starts about a week before my period! He starts to get on my nerves A LOT and then the arguing starts and then we talk and then things hum along again. I don't know if I'm been dense all these years or if PMS effects me differently post-Van or post-marriage or what. But why is it that I'm just now starting to realize that PMS makes me cranky? Is it just highlighted more now by close proximity to humans on a consistent daily basis?

Van is walking more and more every day. It was a bit here and a bit there and then bam! He was moving. I put a video up on my YouTube as a public video. There are other private videos of him being a crazy kid, if you'd like to see them let me know and I'll make the necessary changes to allow that. I'm not finding that the YouTube process is intuitive for me, so it may take me a while. As a matter of fact, the user interface kinda blows.

It's been gorgeous here the last week. Van and I had lunch yesterday on the deck and then we went for a bike ride. The daylight savings time has impacted our schedule a bit and I find I wish he was getting up at 7 still and not 8. Breakfast not starting till 8 definitely doesn't make me feel like we could make a 9am gym class.

Dan and I are going to New York for our 3 year anniversary. It's a bit extravagant for one of the "lesser" anniversaries, but his Mom gave us her free air miles. We considered Chicago and Vegas too, but inevitably went with the tickets that cost the most, but that we could get free. We'll only be there 3 days, but I'm very excited. It's one of the things on my "To Do Before I Die" list.

I am also planning on a trip to Seattle sometime this year, with or without the family. Plus, a trip to Moab with girlfriends. Plus, a camping trip to Wyoming in April with some parent friends of ours, they are leaving their kids behind, but have invited us to bring Van, but we'll see if we can have someone watch him that evening. It's only a night. I imagine that the family will hit the road for many other camping trips this year as Van loves nothing more than to play in the dirt. (He *is* from my loins after all.)  And last November we went on a road trip the week o' Thanksgiving and Dan said he'd like to make it a tradition, so we'll see where that takes us.

That's all I can think of for my quarterly update. I will field questions though, so if you have any, just let me know.

van, daily grind
