according to J. M. Barrie--

"When the first baby laughed for the first time, the laugh broke into a thousand pieces and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies."

Van laughed out loud for the first time Monday night and it is the most amazing thing to hear. I usually only get some gummy smiles out of him, but Dan has gotten all the laughs, which I only totals about 3, but who's counting?

It's painfully precious and once again I'm reminded of those lines from Mary Oliver's poem. . .

Every day
I see or hear
something
that more or less

kills me
with delight,
that leaves me
like a needle

in the haystack
of light.

It's so true. He's so cute!!
