White Christmas!!!
Yes miracles do still happen!!! Finally I am not just dreaming of a white Christmas - like that old Bing Crosby song - we actually have one!!! Now for some that is an every year occurence but for us here in Harris County, along the Texas Gulf Coast - this is a first!!!!
My grandson is so excited - while ago we went outside to check and there was enough snow for us to have a snowball fight...What fun it was to hurl snowballs at eachother and the garage, and the road. I even made a little snowman. But my gloved hands were about frozen so we came in. But now he can not only say that he saw snow, which is a rarity in itself in these parts(about 15 years ago it snowed and didn't melt immediately)...He can claim to have had a snowball fight. His eyes lit up with anticipation and fun and it was so wonderful to see his excitment!!!
Well it is about time to play Nana Claus and get the toys out of hiding before I snuggle down for short winter nap (I am sure he will be up early to check it all out) but I just wanted to share with my friends the wonderous event of our White Christmas!!!
Ok I know after the sun comes up it will probably start to melt - but I shall go to sleep knowing after 46 years of waiting - I got my White Christmas!!! ANd I think it is just grand!!! And the best part is - it isn't so much snow that it has to be shoveled away - it was enough to make this a very memorable holiday for my small family!!! And perfect for us to to break out that hot chocolate and marshmallows, too...
