I really liked "the question was, were they more than that, or less?" and "Anything is a big jump up from zero." :) Very elegantly done.

Ok, I think you just broke my heart. It's funny how a step back from your disturbing one-shots is still majorly angsty. Don't worry, I loved those too ;) I think this really captured the feel of L's impending doom, and I liked how Light recognized that part of himself was going to die with him. This is going in memories, also, had to use apropos icon :)

Have I mentioned recently that I adore your writing?

It's so sweet and sad. I expected smexing, but it was just...awwww. Poor L. Poor Light, too, a little, because he really locked himself into this path and even if he wanted to get out of it, he couldn't anymore than L could.
