Sigh. Just did a massive delete of this post to cut for a) work confidentiality reasons, b) boredom, and c) jargon. Nobody else's jargon is really all that interesting, is it? Or maybe I'm the only one who has an "incomprehension-->falls asleep" button hardwired into my brain by four charming years at one of the finest science institutions in the country. Suffice it to say: human clinical trials are a huge fucking pain in my ass. The end. Also, if I keep staying at work until 8:40pm, I'm going to need to get a car, because I can't do that run for the last bus of the night too many times in a row. (please please please, I beg.)
But yeah, I was thinking this afternoon, while wrapping clear plastic labels on little brown vials (yeah, I really could have thought that out better), that science jargon--it's not that sexy, is it? I need a non-scientific opinion, here.
Other random thoughts--My Chemical Romance's Three Cheers for a Sweet Revenge is pretty much the best thing to listen to while walking home from work at 9:15 at night. He just totally gets at the work-angst in your soul, doesn't he? I bet that's totally what he was going for. I mean, he says the inspiration for half the songs was death (which, heee, I loved that interview. It cracked me the fuck up, because that answer clearly flummoxed the poor interviewer, and also sounded very thirteen years old. I love goths. I get all giggly just thinking about it. Though it did kind of break my heart when the interviewer asked what his parents thought about him starting the band, and he said they were scared. Because he took Mikey out of school for it), but he's clearly hiding the true source. Oh, yeah. the other thing I thought is that whoever the lead guitarist is on MCR is really, really good. (I think it's Frank. Isn't it Frank? Or is it Ray? I can't remember.) Actually, all the songs sound very tight musically.
...I just listened to almost all of Sarah McLachlan and Barenaked Ladies sing a Christmas carol, because I thought, "I should skip past this song," and then forgot that I hadn't.
