I picked up a nasty cold. It has gone through all the stages-sore throat, head congestion, chest congestion. And now, the cough. You know-the one that keeps you awake all night so that you are aware just how miserable you are feeling. So late one night, I was looking on the Internet for home remedies for coughs. Well, I found this one:
¼ t cayenne pepper
¼ t ginger
1 T honey
1 T raw apple cider vinegar
2 T water
Mix and take 2-3 teaspoons at a time.
I checked my supplies to see if I had everything. I did. But the cayenne pepper had expired five years ago. It had little white things in it. So I threw it out and mixed up the concoction without the cayenne pepper. Then I took two teaspoons full. It was like the Internet article said. “The only drawback is that it tastes terrible.” And that was minus the cayenne pepper. I went to bed. I coughed all night.
The next day I got some cayenne pepper and added it to the mixture. That night I took another two teaspoons full. It tasted even worse! But that night I slept all night without coughing once. I have continued to take it for several nights and it works like magic. It may be that it tastes so awful that you are trying not to cough so that you don't have to get up and take some more! But whatever the reason, I’m sold on it.
