Little towns are something special, aren't they?
I just got back from a tiny town tickled with a couple 'o folks. This sweet little neighborhood is where my mother grew up...Waterloo, QC. For those of you who thought Waterloo only existed in Ontario, well stand amazed...her sister is a somewhat more 'classic' (aka underdeveloped), and much more 'french' version of her self. Anyhow, we had a crazy/sweet picnic at the polluted beach. We couldn't go swimming 'cause of the leeches (which my kid cousin had an intimate encounter with...7 in total), but we're all typical cityfolk, and just the trees and mountains, clear skies and stillness - well, it made us feel real warm and fuzzy. After washing the grub down with my aunt's homemade cheesecake, we hit the blackjack. 'Course, we're all black and broke, so we used raisins to place bets. 'Course, we're all black and hungry, so we ate the raisins. The game didn't last very long.
Well, I'm not quite sure why I'm still up. I've gotta work tomorrow...but the whole CBC lockout thing is making work real sticky. I'm eager to see if I'll still have a job tomorrow...
With an "insomniatic" smile,
