TUESDAY SHOWS = LOVE

My shows are back! Oh joy of joys!!! First off...

Gilmore Girls:

Rory and Lorelai back together!!! Their togetherness continues to make me ten shades of happy!! It makes me like Rory again! Yay!

I loved the way Rory reacted to Logan! Yay spine!! I love that she didn't let him get away with that shit! That's the Gilmore I know and love!! And her breakdown later? SO GREAT!! I also love Lane's parallel storyline and why weren't those two talking about their mutual boy troubles!?! Though I love Mama Kim bustin' out the hooch!

The Luke has a daughter storyline is playing out better than I expected. I liked the mom, and though not telling him about the daughter was shitty, I liked her reasons for it, and that she didn't know that daughter!Luke had contacted him until after the fact. And I liked Luke looking up her website and realizing that he wants to know her and be involved in her life. That gives me hope for when Lorelai does find out. Because, yes, okay, he didn't tell her right away. But! I'm hopeful that Lorelai will (eventually) realize that he didn't know and that it was a huge shock, and seeing that he wants to be involved in his daughter's life will affect her because Luke is such a good guy!

Uh, that wasn't exactly coherent, but whatever.

Other things I loved:

Paris! I MISSED YOU SO MUCH! Suki, bfotb! The wedding plans coming together because they're perfect for each other! And the beginning where they're just getting back from Rory's belated birthday party had me a little teary because RORY AND LORELAI ARE BACK TOGETHER YAY!!!

And then! THEN!!! Supernatural!!!

My first though upon viewing this was, 'OMG I LOVE MY BIG, GAY, INCESTY SHOW!' Never let it be said that I am deep! But for reals:

*The brothers' split hurt me on a fundamental level. I wasn't sure if they were going to get back together this episode or not. In fact, Brian went to bed right after Dean was thrown in the cellar, and I was like "HOW CAN YOU GO TO BED? Don't you want to see if Sam saves him?"

Brian was like, "They won't get back together this episode. I bet you two dollars." And I was like, "FINE! I HATE YOU!" And was all nervous until Sam showed up and I wanted to yell, "SEE?!? SAMMY LOVES HIS BIG BROTHER!! YOU OWE ME TWO DOLLARS, BITCH!" But Brian was all sick and stuff, so I let him sleep.

But, uh, yes. God, their angst is so lovely! I have so many theories on how Sam and Dean operate re: their father. How Dean is so obedient and Sam is always fighting it.

Part of it, I think, is that Dean is the oldest. In a very fundamental way, part of what makes it possible for Sam to rebel the way he does is the fact that Dean is who and what he is. Hmmm, I will have to think about this more, but the thought that I keep coming back to is that each brother functions how he needs to for them to function like they do as a unit.

Sam needs Dean to be the stable one. He needs to know that Dean will follow orders, because that's what Dean does and if he knows the job is getting done, then Sam can walk away without feeling guilty.

And Dean? Let's Sam walk away because he wants to find Dad, too. He wants to find Dad and he wants to help and it probably kills him that he's stuck doing side missions, but if he's the Good Son, and lets Sam go, he can still have it both ways. Because maybe if Sam finds Dad, then Dad will let Dean come too.

But in the end, when Dean needs him, Sam doesn't hesitate to steal a car and get back to him. Actually, I thought Sam's leaving showed just how much faith Sam has in Dean's ability to take care of himself. Even when Sam finds out that Dean is fighting a god, he's all, "Okay, well if you need me..." It's only when Dean stops answering his phone that Sam worries.

I just-- I love their dynamic. Their ability, their willingness to hurt each other is just perfect, because no matter what they say, or how much they may resent each other at times, they are completely loyal to each other and that is just so...fantatic.

I'm sure there's more that I have yet to think of, but that's it for now. So in conclusion, YAY FOR NEW SHOWS!!!!!
