"What was this study used for, Elrond?" he asked. "Was it part of the library?"
Elrond looked uncomfortable, which did not escape Glorfindel.
"Of sorts," Elrond slowly replied. "It dates back to the time when this place was founded, and - but really, must we dwell here?"
Who would be better suited to deal with a restless spirit than one who has already experienced the afterlife? Alas, Glorfindel finds that obstinate Elves do not become more docile in death. And if he wants Lindir to return order to the Last Homely House and love to the life of Lord Elrond, Glorfindel has to grasp the nettle - among other plants.

This is the tale of obscure information. Beside reflecting on obsolete spring festivals, I ran with "Erestor, Elrond's kinsman" (see The Return of the Shadow) and the notion that he was Half-elven. Oh, the possibilities...
