Donations: Update on Alfie Cat

Nov 18, 2014 23:36

After everything went so well after Alfie's surgery, unfortunately a completely unexpected complication occured: during the check-up it showed that scar tissue has grown very fast and excessively, so that Alfie's throat is now almost closed again. He had problems eating and breathing, so we had to set a date for a repeat surgery quickly. It will take place tomorrow, 19.11.2014.

This time, the doctorrs will remove as much material as possible and will also give Alfie cortisone, which will hopefully prevent a renewed growth of scar tissue. This is something nobody could have predicted, cortisone isn't something you'd give as a rule during such a surgery. I'm a nervous wreck... fortunately, Alfie is otherwise fit, so I'm positive that he'll also get through this surgery without problems. Please cross all available thumbs and paws!

Of course I'm now facing yet another invoice from hell; fortunately, the clinic immediately agreed to accept installments. I also increased my work hours from January on (sigh), but I have also re-activated the betterplace.org; I'd be very grateful if you could spread the word that Alfie needs help once more. I will not give up on that cat. Never.
