Shadow the Christmas Dog, whose acquaintance we made on the Christkindl Market in Salzburg/Austria.
dieglasperle and me just returned from our short trip to Salzburg/Austria. I caught a few winks of sleep then went to work... I AM DEAD! I'll catch up with everything tomorrow, promised!
We finally fulfilled our wish to visit the
Gut Aiderbichl Animal Sanctuary. More about that later this week; let me just say that we were very impressed with that project.
We were lucky, the founder/manager of Gut Aiderbichl, Michael Aufhauser, was there as well, and talked about his motivations, plans and activities. Some criticise him for being too much of a "showman", but I really couldn't care less - maybe keeping your voice down while doing good is a virtue, but I prefer a showman on a mission who manages to drum up the funds needed for such a giant project. Snail or horse - he believes that all animals have the same rights and deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.
We also paid a visit to the Christkindl Market, which was lovely - Salzburg is a beautiful town, but most of the people were pretty rude and grumpy, so we felt right at home. Oh Vienna, how I missed thee... also more about that later.
As we're getting closer to Yulemasukkah, I'll post Christmassy-themed pictures during the next weeks. Before I drop into bed, I leave you with one of the goats on Gut Aiderbichl, who had her own way of appreciating the Christmas tree!
