My book: The Purser, The Surgeon, The Captain And His Lieutenant

Dear all

The "official blog" is now online. You'll find updates on my original writing, the upcoming book release, bitchings about writer's block, editors, agents and whatever else might cross my mind. And hey, you must admit I've chosen a "nom de plume" that would make Barbara Cartland blush!

You're welcome! :D
*looks forward to the book*

Will you self-publish it or publish it at a publishing house?
Do you already have a general idea of the price, by any chance? :)

I'll self-publish *waits for general "0h no!" to die down* - not out of vanity, but simply because a book of that type wouldn't attract enough readers to get any major publisher interested. So it will be published by "Penny, Dreadful & Tarbottom". ;-)

I've made a new post with additional information here:

Thank you! :)

Would this be a disturbing coincidence if I were to mention that I work for a US publishing company specialized in gay graphic novels and gay romance novels and that we had been thinking of publishing an age of sail novel? XD *lol*
We never published one before, but my naval obsessions and POTC have been pulling the licensing meeting in that direction. XD

The only thing is, and I prefer to say it right away, our target public tends to be the ones who are in for 'romance novels' and the smut romance more than for actual literary & naval value, and I'm thinking your book is most likely on the actual age of sail category on the shelf with Patrick O'brian (*squee*) and other serious books, and not in the category we usually publish for. ^^;/ (Our novel division is small, we publish mostly yaoi manga, so the novels we publish are usually also lighter yaoi novels from Japan ( ... )

Not disturbing - more envy-inducing! :-D Sounds like a very good way to earn your wages, and I'd be the last to object more Age of Sail. ;-)

Thanks for the compliment! :-D - actually, no, the book will be different. One of the first test-readers called it "Jane Austen on speed"... of course I want the historical parts to ( ... )
