Hatfields & McCoys/Damian O'Hare gifs
Life is full of surprises - the very moment YIM was removed from my laptop, my gif maker and video programme worked again. It had never crossed my mind that this could be the problem! Well, now it works, and I've been giffing along. For those of you who missed Damian in "Hatfields & McCoys":

Hah! I loved that scene; Ellison making the bully (who called Cotton Top "half-witted bastard") apologise to his son. I'd love to see that more in schools these days...
He's clearly made to star in Western movies (though, strictly speaking, this wasn't set in the west. But it's not an Eastern, either...)
After sorting out the bullies, "Cotton Top" says that they were sort of right, because he was a "mush-head". Devil Anse Hatfield (Kevin Costner) tells him that God gave him such a big heart, he couldn't give him a big brain as well. And he wasn't a bastard, either, because he had a family who loved him. Ellison clearly loved his son, no matter what, and it was a relief to find some love and compassion among all that fighting and killing.
(Sorry for the rotten language, but that's what was said.)
I wonder how this whole thing had turned out if Ellison had survived. I think this very well might have been the end of the Feud, not the beginning of the escalation. I wish one could write fixfic for history...
