When it comes to expression of dislike for an individual, the following item should win a special price. I don't know who owned this jerry, but one thing's for sure: they didn't like Captain Basil Hall of the Royal Navy very much!

Hahaha! That's what most people say when they see this picture! I think some serious big business could be made there. "Hate Pots" or something. :D

Now I think we can see what Sir Edward meant when he described Admiral Lord Bridport as too good for drowning - wonder if he commissioned any like items - that would be a piece of china ware I would be delighted to find.
anteros_lmc will love this when she is back next week!

Makes you wonder who of our dear naval heroes owned a chamber pot with a picture - and who that picture showed! (Collingwood would probably have been too polite for such things, but then you never know...)

I did find a hilarious one which I'll post later.

Cuddy would have just whispered to Bounce who would have quietly gone and cocked his leg against the offender's britches and elft the Admiral to apologise sweetly and charmingly - and to write home in delight later

Ahahaha! Perfect! 100% spot on; yes, I think that's exactly what he'd done. And oh, how I'd loved to have read that letter - "Bounce desires you to know that he does not agree with Mr. ... at all, and showed his displeasure in the most ungentlemanly manner..."

That must be what EP meant. Sort of like the saying "if he was on fire, I wouldn't piss on him to put it out!"

Poor Basil Hall. And he seemed so nice!

He wouldn't even put out the flames with the content of his chamber pot! Those were tough times...!

Poor Basil Hall. And he seemed so nice!

He's a martyr and should become patron saint of all travel journalists!
