TV: "Becoming Human", BBC3

A vampire, a werewolf and a ghost go to school - I admit I feared the worst: a copy of "Being Human" with chalk dust and mean girls. Mea culpa, I was wrong. I liked it, though I'm probably about 20 years too old to count as a member of the target audience. If this show would return as a stand-alone series, I'd definitely watch.
What is it about? Following the advice of George (from Being Human), young vampire Adam goes back to school, where he meets werewolf Christa and ghost Matt. Matt was murdered, but he can't really remember who did it or what happened to his body. The trio try to find the murderer and solve the case, so that Matt can pass through the door to his afterlife. Suspects are school bullies, school beauties and teachers.
My favourite of the trio is definitely Matt the ghost. Great casting, very natural acting. Wasn't too impressed by Christa the emo!werewolf in the beginning, but I got to like her. Adam makes a neat vampire, though you really have to put all your vampire-perceptions from "Being Human" aside. This 46 year old vampire in the body of a sixteen year old boy is no Mitchell, and that's good. He's the type of smartarse you can find in every class, but with added fangs. And problems to adapt to modern times... good casting overall; very refreshing to see the leads look and act like normal kids. OK, fangs and canines and murder and doors to the afterlife aside.
