Garrow: "Is he a man, from your knowledge of him, likely to commit a deliberately foul murder?"
Nelson: "I should as soon suspect myself because I am hasty, he is not."

No, this is not an excerpt from a future script of "Garrow's Law" (*hinthint*) - it's a quote from a historic document. In 1787 (if I read that correctly), Nelson gave evidence for ( Read more... )

That would be an amazing case to see filmed! And I don't even watch the show, but I definitely agree! xP

It would be awesome beyond awesome! And imagine the fun we'd have speculating on whom they'd cast as Nelson! :-D

And of course they'd cast the wrong guy and we could whine for weeks about the choice, hehehe! Fun times!

It would be a thing of great beauty. I wish I had the time to go through the complete archive, I'm sure there are more cases involving tars. "Old Tars at the Old Bailey" would be a fantastic series!

It would at least make for an excellent episode in the hopefully soon to come second series. :D Unfortunately Nelson was unable to help the seaman. :/

I have to admit my ignorance. I had thought Lady Sarah was a fictional character and on the site I found that they later married. I must get around to ordering the recent biography.

If I remember correctly, Tony Merchant mentioned in one interview that not only Garrow married her later, but even raised his "predecessors" children! He must have been a rather extraordinary man for his time. I've given up my resistance and ordered the biography. Let me know what you think about it! :)

Hmmmm. I like this portrait. It's so pretty... Pretty boy in pretty uniform... *eyes glaze over*

Wait, you said something about something? :D

Haha! He looks really good in that portrait, but I can't help but suspect it's a bit flattering. Still my favourite picture of Nelson, though. He sure knew how to wear an uniform!

I'd dance on the table if that would happen. At least *one* navy-related case would be nice. Naval interest aside: imagine the uniforms! :-D
