Ahaha, oh my, the ribbon-- the ribbon! I can't stop laughing at that little detail. Yikes~

The ribbon does it for me. Dauntless and I were discussing elsewhere how inspiring it would have been if there had been a navy version of the condom - in navy blue and red. Or maybe with gold ribbons, the number of which depending on the rank.

That would make some story!

Now I've got these horrible visions of Royal Navy issued condoms, according to rank (er, military rank, I would assume).

This half-frog is not very amused. And grateful that nowadays these thingies are not meant to be recycled. *g*
Incidentally, there's a lovely scene about them in 'A Harlot's Progress' about the painter William Hogarth. And I found this while looking up more insult-trading between French and British. Isn't language fun? *^_^*
