Back in the summer of '88
Today was insanely long... concerts & the day before vacation makes a day so long.
I got such a good night sleep. Oh man & I got like 9 hours. WOO. I read the Da Vinci Code for like 2 hrs. last night & more when I woke up. That book is starting to get really good. At first, I didn*t really like it but now I LOVE it. I did a bit of a workout & then showered & stuff cause Sarah told me we were going to the Art Voice Festival around 12. Well, plans changed haha. But it worked out. I met Sarah & Jon up at the Bagel & we hung there for like 2 hours before heading to the subway station for the concert. We accidentally met up with Kuttesch & that crew which was cool. I just love the atmosphere of the subway station. Jon said some of the dumbest things on it. Man he was having an off day with his humor. *sighs & shakes head* We missed the first main stage act :( But we got to see MMW (Modeski Martin Wood). They were just so insane. It was jazz/jam music. Bassist was so great. And the drummer had all these cool side instruments aside from his unique drumming. The keyboard player was very trippy haha. But still great. They began really trippy then jammed & were more jazzy then finished how they sorta started. I LOVE THAT. We got all our change together & got some food & water 'cause it was pretty hot. I wish I had money 'cause their hippie stuff was so damn cheap. Before Gov't Mule we found Sam & he hung with us during them. Sam & I caught up throughout it 'cause he decided not to call me for 2 days ..whore. I love how many Amherst people come to these Downtown events. It makes me happy. Gov't Mule was great. I had to digest it but once I did I appreciated the greatness. Awesome jams. When this thing was over we were all so damn tired. Now I am home & I am really exhausted & dirty so I think I need a shower & I need to finish packing.
Sarah & I began a list of things we need to do together this summer or whenever. Some were made up by me.. some by her. Some are undecided if both of us will do them haha. Some ideas are:
- dreadlocks - senior year
- shave our heads
- nose pierced
- road trip
- tye dye lots of things
- bar bell
- make our own hippie skirts
more will be added. Next time I update I will be in NC. Hooray. Hope I don*t fight with too many rednecks :) Pray I hear #41 at my concert on Tuesday!!!!
