the fact that i have no room for a trek icon almost makes me want a paid account
saw star trek just now, it was epic and made of win-sauce. incoherant babbly review cut for spoilers.
SO GOOD SO GOOD SO GOOD. while that's not really a spoiler I felt I had to preface it with that.
Karl Urban was so McCoyish it freaking freaked me out. He was soooo good. Entire cast was, but he was just really spot on.
TOS references were sooo funny, but a few of them only I laughed at. It made me sad, I was like, really, guys?
The part at the beginning made me weeeeeeeep, and I was like, oh no, this is going to be such a tearfest for me, but I was good after that.
Chekov was adorable.
And other things I can't think of atm. it's late. it's thursday not friday. damn i forgot that.
Only three things that bothered me really, in order of bother-itude
1. Alternate Universe. Yes, fine, whatever, go there if you want, but please don't hit me over the head with it. that was stupid. every single person in the movie theatre groaned at that line, and not orgasmically.
2. Kirk finding Spock Prime or whatever we're calling him. Really? What are the odds? Pretty damn slim, pretty damn slim. And sorry, you used your 'IT'S DESTINY!!!' get-out-of-plot-hole-free card already.
3. Spock and Uhura. Still thinking that one over. idk about it. :/ I will admit though I'm glad they didn't go the kirk/uhura way at least.
