Z's Ideas for Nurturing Community

Nov 05, 2013 12:22

When Chantelle posted that the question "What are you doing to nurture your community?" was a topic of study at Turning Sun Pre-School, another commenter pooh-poohed the idea that preschoolers could possibly have anything to say on the topic. Since Z is a student at Turning Sun, I decided to ask him.

First we had to define our terms: I explained that "nurturing" means "take care of," or "help to be better." Then we talked about what communities he's a part of: his family, his school, the city of Atlanta. His ideas:

Snuggle
Be nice to everyone
Do what the law says
Get rid of robbers
Make more places for people to live and work
Give people money if they're poor
Think with portals
Paint and make art

I'd live in that community!
