Non-Stop Crisis Week

Feb 07, 2013 18:21

One thing after another this week...Tuesday I got a call from the director of Z's preschool that he'd been fighting, and had hit the teachers who came to break it up. Z has been on video game probation ever since. So far we're getting better reports from his teachers, so we may phase some things back in this weekend.

Then yesterday, I came out to the garage to find that the LEAF was low on charge. I figured I'd drop Z off at school, then go to the mall, where there were public charging stations. Unfortunately, though I tried all four of them, not one was able to successfully charge the car--and when I tried to plug in the trickle charger, I got a red fault light. What with the time it took to call Blink tech support (who confirmed that those four machines showed a recent history of failed charges), and Nissan Roadside Assistance to get towed to the dealership (yes, it was that low on charge), I was late for Z's preschool pickup, and had to call Aaron to do it. Now I'm driving a rental car--and I had to buy GAS today. Ew.

Last night, Aaron's laptop started giving him alarming error messages, so he spent all night backing up his hard drive before it ate his files...and then stayed up the rest of the night writing a quiz to give in class today. And then, when my alarm didn't go off this morning, he got up to drive Z to preschool so I wouldn't be late for my own class. (I was still a bit late, but I made up for it with a really entertaining class.)

Hopefully the week is all done throwing crises at me. I'd really like a more peaceful weekend. And I want my car back. Buying gas sucks.
