Legal

I am finally legal: I went to the DMV this morning and renewed my drivers license. I was a triple offender: not only had I lost my license, it had expired in September, and it still had our old address in Decatur on it. I was surprised that they didn't require me to have proof of residency for the new address--the woman just took my word for it. I guess since I didn't change counties they didn't care?

The vision test was interesting, in a "you don't really care, do you?" sort of way. The examiner asked me, "Do you see a light flashing on the left, on the right, or on both sides?" The first was both, the second was right--which left what for third? Yes, I thought so. Is this a vision test, or an IQ test? (I shouldn't complain, considering my IQ is rather more impressive than my vision--which ain't sayin' much.)

I seem to have discovered the ideal time of day to go to the DMV: we showed up at 9:40, and I was done by 10:30. In and out in a half hour, who ever heard of such a thing? But all the people who'd gotten there early to get in before work had gone to work already, and the lunch crowd hadn't shown up yet, so I had the place practically to myself.

Nevertheless, 9:30 is plenty early-before-work for me, so I'm all yawning and dark circled now that I'm here at work. I need some caffeine now...
