Ack, this is kinda last minute.

Anywho the prompt is Guns and Roses (this month's theme is killing me!)

I am not sure what prompted John's rather drastic change of heart. It seemed sudden, and very violent. But otherwise this was a very creative and imaginative tale. I like how you worked color into this. It's funny how you used roses as the things without color in this world, when normally we associate them with being the flower with a vibrant hue. That was a nice touch! Other than some changes in tense that could be easily touched up, I think this was a very interesting story. Best of luck to you this week in the polls!

Lovely fairy tale atmosphere! There's a great mystery here in what happened to Darissa and John's aunt, what the consequences are for stepping outside the lines. I want to know what John learned, what truths he discovered about their world that brought him to take such a drastic action. Did he discover that the consequences of loving Celeste were more than he or his family could bear? Did he discover what consequences awaited Celeste and realize that he was the only one who could spare her from that?

When a story makes a reader ask that many questions, it means that there's something really good going on!
