Today was me and Darren's "3 years and 1 month anniversary"-- okay, so I know we broke up a handful of times but we never really stopped talking to each other so we stick to our first get-together date! :| He picked me up and we went to the Salvation Army to go thrift store shopping, but that didn't work out as well as I imagined. Nothing good! But we found a whole bunch of jackets that looked like "asian dad" jackets and immediately chuckled because we thought of Victor (he always wears this jacket I've deemed the "asian dad" jacket because... he looks like an asian dad). Darren was hungry so we went back to his house and he made both of us lunch. Tater tots, tuna melts, and cream soda!! :) We watched The Wedding Singer while eating; that movie is so cute, I'm pretty sure it's one of my favorites. After the movie, Ronald texted me and told me Chemistry grades were up. I DID BAD, LIKE C/C- BAD ON MY MIDTERMS AND FINAL so I was pretty sure I was going to get a C. To my surprise, God has shown me grace and answered my prayers-- I GOT A B, LIKE WTFEEZYRUSERIOUS!?!?! This quarter, I have a 3.0. Praise God! Darren forgot his keys inside his house right when he shut the front door, so we sat outside his house for at least 15 minutes in the cold waiting for his mom to come home. He rushed to work because he was late and his mom drove me home. Time with Mrs. Barrera, how scary! I'm glad she's so easy to talk to. Now I'm home, waiting for it to be 7pm so I can do laundry like my mother has been nagging me to do. I DID NOT MISS HOME, GUYS. All I missed was my mother's food, my brother, and the sight of my parents. All my mom does is nag at me to do things or yell at me because I go out every day and come home really late. This is exactly why I went to SoCal! I did not miss this weather, either... it is freakin' cold. I busted out my marching band jacket because it is so damn cold.
Yesterday I hung out with Paul and we went shopping because he said he needed me to make shopping decisions for him. Fair enough, I went and helped him buy a whole bunch of snazzy sweaters... but made him wait in Forever 21 for an hour because I shopped. :) What a trooper! After shopping, we went back to the car and started talking about how Christmas music is so repetitive. Paul, however, doesn't mind various renditions of "Last Christmas", which leads me to a very funny story...
A couple of hours ago, my brother told me he was singing in front of his math class for extra credit (?). To what song? "LAST CHRISTMAS"?! So I IM Paul because it reminds me of him not getting tired of different versions of the song and we video chat so he can see+hear my brother sing this song. My brother enthusiastically sings THE ENTIRE SONG , fully equipped with choreography and dances moves of his own, and Paul and I just canNOT stop laughing. My brother is awesome. Paul and I both agreed that he is cooler than me. Hands down.
Going to Christmas in the Park with Darren after he gets off work. I say we'll be there for about 15 minutes before we realize warmth > looking at Christmas trees. Maybe I'll blog about my first quarter "college experience" later...
