Save Our Souls!

Many refer to Vegas as the "City of Sin", "City That Never Sleeps", or the "City of Lights".
Tomorrow morning, I will be leaving for Las Vegas for a week with some of my youth group on a mission trip.
What is a mission trip?
Basically traveling to someplace with the intent of spreadin' the love and word of Jesus around.

Please, pray for me! I would truly appreciate it. We're basically just throwing ourselves out there in the city, talking to whoever God brings to us or whoever we feel compelled to talk to. When passing by someone homeless, don't you ever feel like asking how they got there or giving them someone to talk to? This week will be full of actions. Rather than thinking and regretting, we will be doing. Whether we get the opportunity to mention the name 'Jesus' or talk about the weather and life in general, we will simply be providing company. And we aren't limited to just the homeless; I could talk to people on vacation, people who just got off from work, people shopping, people walking home... the possibilities are endless!

What can you pray for me, you ask? Pray that I have the guts to go up to these strangers and make a difference in their lives. You have to admit, even a quick 5-minute conversation can cheer up your day. Pray that people will see the happiness in my life and ask me how I got it, and how they can have it as well. Pray that God will provide for me the right words to say. Pray for a safe drive there as well as surviving the scorching heat. Pray that we all get the most out of this experience-- spiritually, emotionally, physically, mentally, socially, personally.

I'm so scared! I know the week will be full of rejection, but at least I made the effort. Talking to people who are most likely gamblers or adults 30+ is not an ordinary thing for me, so hopefully I'll adjust quickly. I am totally relying on God to speak for me this week.

Talk to you all next week! I will definitely write about how everything went when I come back.
Thanks for your prayers, and God bless. :)
