Summary: All Connor Queen wanted was to see his mom again.
The moment they walked back into the penthouse, Chloe was surprised when she was
greeted by Connor with a tight embrace.
“Hey, Connor... wait, are you crying?”
“No.” Connor replied as he wiped his tears with the back of his hand. “Why did you leave?”
“I’m sorry...” Chloe apologized, confused at Connor’s behavior she looked up and watched as
Oliver walked towards them, lips set in a grim line.
“Oliver, can we talk?” Clark asked as he looked at the blond man who looked at Chloe before
he looked at Clark.
“Later.”
“Now, Oliver.”
Both Chloe and Connor stepped back as the two adults glared at the tone of the other’s voice.
Both men noticed the way Chloe and Connor reacted, and Oliver tried to smooth the situation by
giving Connor a smile.
“Why don’t you show Chloe the library?”
“I don’t like the library, can I show her my arrow set instead?”
“Sure.” Oliver replied he knew it was stupid to be jealous, but he couldn’t help it when she
looked at Clark as if she was asking for permission.
“It’s okay, Chloe.” Clark reassured her and Connor held Chloe’s hand as he led her to his own
practice area.
Both men waited until the duo disappeared from view.
“Clark, I had no idea what Connor was up to until I saw Chloe this morning.”
Clark just nodded as Oliver kept his eyes on the direction Chloe and his son took. “I already
asked Bart to quickly take anything that would show Chloe what her life is today.”
“Good.” Clark replied curtly. “I hope that you’ll do a better job in making sure she doesn’t
leave the penthouse next time.”
“I’m sorry I had to take a phone call concerning the well being of my wife who is currently
in a coma.” Oliver replied matching Clark’s irritated tone. “Do you honestly think that I would
deliberately jeopardize her safety and Connor’s existence?”
“I’m sorry.” Clark apologized as he took a deep breath. “I... we have to tell her something, Oliver.
She snuck out so that she could talk to her current self at the Daily Planet.”
Understanding dawned on Oliver as he swore softly. “What did you tell her?”
Clark opened his mouth to reply and closed it again when he heard an all too familiar heart beat.
“What is it?” Oliver asked as he saw the expression on Clark’s face.
“It’s Lois. She’s on her way here.”

Chloe followed Connor as the young boy went inside one the many rooms. She looked in surprise
and watched as Connor stood nervously in front of her.
“Do you like it here?”
“I think so. I haven’t had time to see a lot of things yet, I just can’t believe I’m in the
future!” Chloe confided in the young boy. “How did you do it anyway?”
Connor fidgeted, his dad was already upset with him, and he didn’t want to make it worse.
“I’m not sure.”
“Okay.” Chloe said simply. She was pretty sure she can get more out of Clark, and she felt a
little guilty watching Connor squirm in front of her. “You wanted to show me your arrow set?”
Connor nodded as he took Chloe’s hand again and walked towards the corner of the room where
Connor opened a chest and Connor took out a bow and arrow.
“Whoa!” Chloe exclaimed as she stepped back. “How old are you? Are you sure you should be using
something like that?”
“I’m nine.” Connor replied nervously as he looked at Chloe. “You don’t like it?”
“I do!” Chloe replied quickly as she noticed the look of distress on the young boy’s face.
“I’m just worried that you might get hurt.”
“No, dad got me a special set so it’s really not that sharp. See?”
Chloe walked closer and gently touched the tip and nodded her head. “Wow, your dad really does
a lot for you, doesn’t he?”
“Yeah.” Connor replied softly as he placed the arrow on the bow. “Do you want to watch me practice?”
“Sure.” Chloe replied, and she was transfixed at the bright smile Connor offered her.
Chloe stepped back and watched as Connor took a deep breath before he took his first shot. The arrow
didn’t land on target, and Connor looked back at her and Chloe just smiled and gave a small clap of
encouragement.
Connor turned around and tried again, this time, the arrow hit the middle of the target. This time,
Chloe clapped harder and Connor grinned.
“How long have you been practicing?”
“Almost a year,” Connor replied shyly.
“You really like archery?”
“Yeah, dad likes it... He’s really good. Maybe he can teach you too!”
Chloe wrinkled her nose. “Maybe, I’m not really into sports...” Chloe’s voice trailed off when she
saw the disappointed look in Connor’s face. “But maybe I’ll like this one.”
“Do you want to watch me shoot some more?”
“Yep.” Chloe nodded as she took out her digital camera from her bag. “I’ll even film you so you
can see yourself.”
“Really?” Connor asked excitedly as Chloe prepared her camera. Chloe really couldn’t figure out
why Connor seemed so happy with her, but since she’d rather be with a happy kid than a grumpy kid,
she wasn’t going to complain.
She knelt next to Connor and aimed the camera at them.
“Smile!”
Connor quickly wrapped his arms around her neck as Chloe took the shot. She turned the camera around
and showed Connor their picture. “You like?”
“Uh-huh.” Connor replied as he continued to stare at their picture in awe. “Can I have a copy?”
“Sure! Just show me where your computer is and I’ll load it up. So, you want me to start filming you?”
The little blond boy nodded with a grin which Chloe returned as she started recording Connor practice.

Outside, Clark and Oliver braced themselves as Lois walked inside the penthouse.
“Where is she?” Lois demanded as she glared at the two men.
“Lois, calm down!” Clark whispered
“Don’t tell me to calm down! Why didn’t you say anything to me?”
“I couldn’t!” Clark replied. “I had to get her out of the Daily Planet. She wanted to see where she
worked! I can’t let her find out that she doesn’t work for the Planet!”
Lois opened her mouth to say anything, but closed it again as she put her hands on her hips. “How did
she end up here?”
“Connor. He used John’s disc. He wanted to see Chloe.”
“I just don’t understand why you won’t show him Chloe! This wouldn’t have happened if you told
him the truth!”
“I didn’t want to make things harder for him seeing her just lying there!”
“And look what happened!” Lois snapped at Oliver as she stared straight at him. “I want to see her.”
“No!” Both Oliver and Clark replied at the same time.
“She already knows she’s in the future! You’ve all seen her, why the hell can’t I?”
“She doesn’t know about you working at the Planet, about us!” Clark explained as he tried to
keep his voice down.
Lois just shot him a glare as she removed her wedding ring and jammed it in her pocket. “There.
Problem solved. Where is she?”
“Lois...”
“CHLOE!” Lois cried out instead as she made her way inside. “Chloe!”
“Lois! What the hell do you think you’re doing?” Oliver hissed as he grabbed Lois’s arm and yanked
her back. “Are you out of your mind?”
“Hey!” Clark snapped angrily as he removed Oliver’s hand away from his wife’s arm. “Watch it, Oliver.”
Before Oliver can reply, Clark’s head snapped up as he looked at Lois. “I’m really, really sorry, Lois.”
Before Oliver could blink, Lois and Clark disappeared just in time as Chloe and Connor walked back to
the living room.
“I thought I heard someone calling my name?”
“Really? I didn’t hear anything.” Oliver replied as he looked at the camera in Chloe’s hands.
“You’ve been taking pictures?”
“She recorded me while I practiced!” Connor proudly answered and Oliver knew that they have to find
a way to get Chloe back to her own time before Connor gets completely attached.
“She’s going to upload them in my computer!”
Warning bells began to alarm in Oliver’s head. There were pictures of them as a family in Connor’s
computer, and he knew there was no way Chloe should see them.
“That’s a good idea, why don’t the two of you get ready? We can eat out for tonight?”
“Where are we going?” Connor asked before his eyes lit up. “Can we go to watch a movie too?”
“We’ll see.” Oliver just replied before Connor whooped in delight as he dragged Chloe back to his room.
Oliver closed his eyes before he took his phone out of his pocket.
“Victor? We have a problem.”
