1. Will you be looking for a new job?
Kinda. I'll be looking for a new assistantship or a fellowship. Woo!

2. Will you be looking for a new relationship?
New colleagues, new mentors... those, yes. Romantically, I'm pretty happy.

3. New house?
Moving this summer... Don't know where... yet.

4. What will you do different in 2009?
Study harder, be more direct, be more social, take better care of myself.

5. New Years resolution?
"not to move across the country?" Was what I wrote last year to answer this question. Ironic that I now hope to move across the country.

6. What will you not be doing in 2009?
Blaming other people for my problems, ignoring myself.

7. Any trips planned?
Uh, moving to who-knows-where... Does that count?

8. Wedding plans?
Already wed. Thanks.

9. What's on your calendar?
OBAMA'S INAGURATION!!! Summer camp, moving, Take Back the Night, Vagina Monologues.... and the day I get my residual check.

10. What can't you wait for?
My acceptance letters... I hope.

11. What would you like to see happen differently?
Oh, you know, the end of poverty, world peace, space travel, nothing too lofty.

12. What about yourself... will you be changing?
Always.

13. What happened in '08 that you didn't think would ever happen?
I talked to Annie. Annie talked to Eric. I saw my niece born (on my birthday). I applied for, like, a zillion schools. I got some creative work published.

14. Will you be nicer to the people you care about?
Eh. Why bother?

15. Will you dress differently this year than you did in 08?
Not so much.

16. Are you going to be in school in 09?
Yes, yes, yes.

17. Will you make more money in 09?
I hope so. Kinda.

18. Will you do charity work?
As usual.

19. Are you going to drink on New Years Eve?
I didn't, but I thought about it. I had candy.

20. Will you be nice to people you don't know?
I usually am... I think.

21. Do you expect 2009 to be a worse year for you than 2008?
No, I don't. But I suppose it could happen.

22. How much did you change from this time last year til now?
I'm less bitter. I'm more mature. I'm a lot happier. I'm fatter, haha. I have more direction, more drive, a firmer grasp on what/who I am.

23. Do you plan on having a child?
Not even a little bit.

24. Will you still be friends with the same people you are friends with now?
Yes. However distantly.

25. Major lifestyle changes?
Yes, yes, yes.

26. Will you be moving?
Oh, yes.

27. What will you make sure doesn't happen in 2009 that happened in 08?
Bitterness. Dependency.

28. What are your New Years Eve plans?
We watched Deep Space Nine, ate some Thai food, played with Molly Ann.

29. Will you have someone to kiss at midnight?
I kissed Daniel at 12:02... Close enough.

30. Wishes for 2009:
The end of an error, haha. Getting into any of my five dream schools.

As 2008 comes to an end....

1) Where did you begin 2008?
After a week of homelessness and and sleeping on Eric's floor, Daniel and Shane and I moved into our house on Kenton Street and watched Dick Clark look old.

2) What was your status on Valentine's Day?
Working, probably.

3) Were you in school (anytime this year)?
The whole time... Minus summer.

4) How did you earn your money?
Working at the University.

5) Did you have to go to the hospital?
Um... I don't think so. Mom got kidney stones and I was there for that.

6) Did you have any encounters with the police?
I called the cops when the guy across the street from us starting smacking a woman around.

7) Where did you go on vacation?
Chattanooga?

8) What did you purchase that was over $1000?
Um... electricity?

9) Meet anyone new?
Yes!

10) Did you know anybody who passed away?
My grandmother on my mother's side--Grandma Grandma. Lung cancer at 70, it was very very sad. There's a pattern emerging among my dead grandparents... Hm...

11) Was anyone born?
Molly Ann Cupcake

12) Did you move anywhere?
Just once this year, phew.

13) How did you celebrate your birthday?
Well, around midnight I drove across Chattanooga like a crazy woman to get pasta while Annie writhed in pain on her couch. Then I slept between contractions. Then Annie barfed into a bucket while I loaded her stuff into the car. Then I played doula for a few hours. Then Annie's vajayjay erupted with a person. Then I ate some soup and drove home and kissed Daniel and slept for the first time in two days.

14) What concerts/shows did you go to?
Last Vilejive ever... It was fucking tragic.

15) Are you registered to vote?
Yes but I didn't get to vote in the primary because I was registered in California too long.

16) Who did you want to win Big Brother?
What the fuck is that?

17) Where do you live now?
Park Street.

18) How did you spend your summer?
Killing zombies, driving to Chattanooga.

19) What's one thing you thought you'd never do but did in 2008?
Apply for PhD programs.

20) What has been your favorite moment?
Molly Ann falling asleep while I sang the Decemberists.

21) What's something you learned about yourself?
I am far more resilient than I had thought.

22) Any new additions to your family?
Molly Cupcake

23.) What was your worst month?
January, actually. Maybe June.

24.) What music will you remember 2008 by?
The Decemberists... again. "Angels and Angles" to be exact. Oh, and Greydon Square.

25) Who has been your best drinking buddy?
Maggie.

26) Made new friends?
Yes!

Mmm, maybe.

Last Vilejive.

29) What sporting events did you attend?
Yeah.... no.

June. August. November.

I'll give it four stars.

32) Other than home, where did you spend most of your time?
Mug Shotz. Eric's house. Work.

Return of the bangs. Hair is growing back--thank goodness.

None that I remember.

35) Did you have a New Year's resolution?
Nope.

36) Do anything embarrassing?
If I did, I don't remember... Which is either very good or very bad.

A clarinet, computer monitor... I think that's it.

Not that I'm aware of.

Not even once.

No, I threw my neck out, though. That sucked.

Nope.

44) Are you glad to see 2008 go?
I'm neither sad nor glad. I look forward to the passage of time, generally speaking.

Nice. Very very nice.
