Blogging the Lockdown.
I'm here now. Lockdown. Fun times.
In case you don't know, there have been shootings on campus today. I got the following emergency text message alerts:
12:31:09 WKU-ALERT Armed men have been reported on WKU South Campus. Please stay clear of the area.
12:48:44 WKU-ALERT Shots fired near PFT seek shelter immediately.
We're not being informed on much which, I suppose, is the safest thing.
Rumors: Eighty hostages at South Campus. Four men detained at Preston. One or more on the loose in PFT. There may be hostages in PFT but no one knows--not even the cops.
EDIT: Another shooter at St. Joseph school--a catholic school.
My friend works at the newspaper and he's keeping me informed via text message. My brother listens to the police scanner as a matter of habit, something he and I both learned to do when our dad was beat cop in Los Angeles. Between the two of them, I think I have as much information as the cops do. Funny how I'm on campus and I seem to know less than you folks do.
There aren't any cops at Potter--I can see it from the top floor of our office. I can't imagine there is anything going on there.
